Full disclosure: Blake has done this to me and it's terrible. You can also amp this one up by hiding under a box he thinks is full, in a laundry hamper (did this to some friends with great results), or under a pile of clothes. Since technology has the potential to make everything better (well, better for you, worse for him), you can get a close-up of his reaction for extra laughs later. Hiding behind a door and leaping out is sure to rustle up a scream he didn't know he had in him.
The classic "boo!" It's an oldie and a goodie for a reason. Just make sure you don't put it somewhere that could lead to injury, like in the shower or sun visor of his car (I say this because I've seen videos of both, and while funny, they could so easily go terribly wrong). This one's great because you can really tailor it to whatever freaks your guy out the most. Bonus points if you can somehow sneak it onto his foot when he doesn't realize. This one clearly won't work if your guy is an arachnophile! Otherwise, consider a rubber tarantula your new BFF and place it somewhere surprising, like between the sheets or on top of his shoes. Just make sure you don't put it somewhere that could lead to injury, like in the shower or sun But if you know your guy would get a kick out of some harmless jokes, give in to the holiday and try these on for size. Of course, you should be in general agreement about whether you're the trickster types-if one of you loves 'em while the other can't stand the fact that there's a whole day devoted to pranks, think twice about the following. What, is that not how the saying goes? In honor of April Fools' Day, I'd argue that it should! Playing little jokes on each other is such an easy tactic to shake up your relationship in a very fun way.
